EVENTS for 2012 at Te Wahi Ora Women's Retreat

Come and join us for as many as you'd like.    We would love to have you.

June:
22nd, 23rd and 24th our 21st Birthday Celebration Wknd No 1.
Saturday 23rd is our Party day if you can't come for the weekend.

21st Birthday Celebrations  :  Normal Te Wahi Ora weekend costs apply

This is a double celebration this year - Winter Solstice and Te Wahi Ora's first 21st Birthday Party!

The whole weekend will be a celebration of both but on Saturday we will have a special day to include all those who would like to come but cannot make it for the whole weekend.   A koha to the Wynsome Fund would be much appreciated not only by us but also by the women who will benefit.

Saturday 23rd June, begins with morning tea at 10.30 a.m.

Then we want to explore the newly renovated Te Wahi Ora -  share our stories and memories of your Te Wahi Ora days - before our birthday celebration luncheon prepared by Christine and Jill, 1pm.

Hopefully it will be crisp and clear for a beach walk in the afternoon and then a closing ceremony and afternoon tea, to mark the return of the sun at Winter Solstice and metaphorically in our lives!.

July:
13th, 14th  15th Juicing & Detoxing Weekend:   Normal Te Wahi Ora costs apply

We had a week-long detoxing programme last year and many folk were disappointed that they could not get time off work for a week in order to attend.

This year we are planning one weekend a month for five months, July - November.

Barbera Wiseman, who has been running Wiseorganic health shop in Hamilton, will be our 'juicing' expert.   Come and learn how to juice wisely and enjoyably.   Books will be available to buy or recipes can be copied to take home.   Not only will you be given juices to try but you can try out the machines yourself.   Most of the veges will come from our own gardens!

As well, the wonderfully tasty meals eaten during the weekend, will be gluten, dairy, meat and sugar free.   You'll have to try them to believe that food so tasty can even encourage rather than hinder the detoxing process.

Justine, with six Bio-Cleanse (foot bath) machines will be available to clear the toxins as our body releases them.   The Bio-Cleanse is an extra $30.  Well worth it.

27th, 28th 29th Writing Weekend: Normal Te Wahi Ora costs apply unless booking for two weekends

Hilary has generously agreed to lead two more writing weekends, July and October.   On these weekends we write!

Hilary sets the tone at the beginning of Saturday but the topic and the style of writing is totally up to us.   At the end of the each day we share as much or as little of our writing as we choose.

NB: Last Writing Weekend for the year is on 26, 27 & 28 October 2012

Further Detox Week Information

We have been getting a few emails enquiring about the Detox Week,
so here is some further information that may help you to decide to come and join us!

We wanted to help women towards healthy eating and one of our staff is keen on health and knew about Detoxing foods, so we went ahead.

Each woman will have their own room.

The days will begin with a healthy breakfast brought to their rooms for them to have when they feel like it!

After lunch we will have a daily meditation.

Each day the women will be encouraged to do gentle walking on the beach and particularly in the ocean to absorb all its richness!

On Tuesday a very kind professional is bringing her BioCleanse foot bath for each of us to experience, $30 each.

On Wednesday afternoon, we will have a chance of a massage, $55 each for the hour.

Much of the food will be raw - and special desserts are being prepared that will rival any steam pudding!

On Friday we hope that our treat will be a $30 facial.

Each woman will be given recipes to take home and handouts to help them continue to have a natural detoxing lifestyle.

So the total is $500+GST all up! Or someone can come for the week at the Spring Special rate of $395 and pay for the extras that they can afford or want to have, i.e. massage, meditations, recipes, facial, biocleanse foot bath.

We would be so grateful if you were able to encourage women to come our way. Hope this helps answer your questions.

All the very best,

Bev
Manager/Trustee

News from Te Wahi Ora

I was all set months ago, to show you this photo of us eating outside in May. I was all set to write "SEE, there is still sunshine in Piha" come and join us.

When sunddenly it was winter and I had a nasty does of Shingles! Life became somewhat painful and limited for me. But Winter went on in its own way - redesigning the stream so it now runs parallel to our road and the ocean was so wild!

People started to notice their high level of stress as the dark nights and grey days became more frequent. Requests came asking for time out at Piha.

"I need to unwind, catch my breath and regain my balance" they said, and their company enriched our winter months.

Winter walking was done inspite of gales or rain though most opted to wait for the sunshine! But they knew how to dress for the weather! Others found the shelter of the bush tracks and Garden road and walked anyway!

Dinners around the fire became a necessity . . . some one came for a week's study, several for spiritual direction and some simply for some rest.

One good friend came to help me cut back the hedges and trees to allow the sun onto the chalets.

Some came to sort out health issue's and Karen is just the one for the job with her cooking!
Tourists came from overseas, one to die actually, but while here life became important and precious to her again and so she returned home.
Several groups came to hold workshops. One guest even made a video of her visit to Piha, you can view it here www.tewahiora.co.nz/movie.htm Thanks Edna!
Winter certainly came fast and furious and now it seems that spring may be slowly emerging from the cold and wet. With day light savings we are enjoying crisp sunny days and longer evenings.
Hoping that this finds all our friends of Te Wahi Ora well and enjoying whatever life is bringing to you all.
More news very soon!
